The Bus Expedition Alumni Network

aka, the B.E.A.N.

The B.E.A.N. is an alumni group that formed to support creating connections among all of the past, present, and future participants of the bus expeditions, beginning with the Trailside Country School (TCS), including all variations of the National Audubon Society Expedition Institute (often referred to simply as Audubon) and the Audubon Expedition Institute (with and at Lesley University), and ending with the current presence of this educational model, the Expedition Education Institute.

This alumni network is run independently of the current EEI organization (though there is a natural interdependence) and relies solely on volunteer coordinators — it is a testament to the love of the bus!

Bus expedition alumni are invited to join fellow former bus program participants on the B.E.A.N.’s open Alumni Facebook Group page!

The B.E.A.N has organized Alumni Convergences, most summers since 2009:

2009 – Hawthorne Valley Farm, NY

2010 – Ravenwood Collective, Searsmont, ME

2011 -Portland, OR

2012 – Harold Parker State Forest, Andover, MA

2013 – Potrero Nuevo Farm, Half Moon Bay, CA

2014 – Storyhouse @ the Whidbey Institute, Whidbey Island, WA

2015 – Cobb Hill Community, Hartland, VT

Don’t miss out on the Alumni Convergences organized every summer by the B.E.A.N.! Let us know if you’d like to be added to the alumni contact list by sending us a message.
