The Expedition Education Institute programs are full semester undergraduate college programs (study away for a semester) and gap year semesters.

Are you ready to become an ecological leader, to become deeply rooted in the natural world and in your own power to make change and create a better, more resilient world?

An expedition semester combines the best of liberal arts education, transformative experiential learning, and cultural immersion.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A STUDENT ON AN EXPEDITION SEMESTER:

Students and faculty live and learn together, traveling through a bioregion in a custom retrofitted school bus, eating, sleeping, and studying outdoors. This traveling community explores the local and global environmental challenges that the local communities and ecosystems are facing and examines possible solutions. Through our studies, we come to know the bioregion and its human and natural communities ecologically, culturally, and sociopolitically. We also come to better know ourselves, our values, and dreams.
